CHENNAI: A 27-year-old woman died when a concrete sunshade on the second floor of an illegal building in Teynampet came crashing down on her balcony on the first floor and ripped out the entire side of the structure beneath her on Sunday afternoon. The debris fell on children playing on Nallan Street, a narrow road, leaving two of them with head injuries. The owner of the building, who constructed the second floor a month ago, built the balcony only last Sunday. Police said J Bhuvanasree, who doctors declared dead on arrival when taken to Government Royapettah Hospital, had a threemonth-old girl, Darshini. She was staying with her parents on the first floor.
