VARANASI: The pathetic condition of roads, along with massive encroachments by road side vendors and make shift stalls have made it impossible for the commuters to walk safely on the city roads. In many areas the encroachments have spread, occupying a major chunk of the roads causing frequent traffic jam and inconvenience to the public.
