VISAKHAPATNAM: Heritage lovers and senior residents of the city are up in arms against the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation's (GVMC) knee-jerk proposal to pull down old buildings in the city, many of which have historical and heritage value, in the wake of the City Light hotel tragedy in Secunderabad last week. As per the admission of GVMC town planning wing officials, many of the 450 buildings identified for demolition are nearly 100 to 130 years old.
